David Howard

David Howard is in the Department of Electronics at the University of
York, UK where he researches the human speaking and singing voice. He
has been teaching acoustics and pscyhoacoustics of in the context of
speech and music production for many years, and has co-authored a
textbook (with Dr Damian Murphy - a recording specialist and composer
from York) in the area with Plural Press titled: Speech science,
acoustics and recording" which is intended for voice performers to guide
their learning on voice acoustics, room acoustics and how to perform to
best advantage as well as how to make a voice recording. David sings as
a Deputy Tenor in York Minster and directs the Beningbrough singers (a
120strong a capella singing group) from the tenor section.
